Shack - Open Water Class

Class Cost: $139.95 - This covers all instruction over five sessions and the open water weekend, use of tanks, regulators, BCD's and wetsuits while at the shops pool.

Training Materials: $57.50 - The student package including textbook, dive tables, student folder, and logbook.

Rental Equipment: $69.95 - This covers rental of the tank, regulator, BCD, and wetsuit from a Friday to a Monday for you two days of open water training.

Required Items: $250.00 and up for mask, snorkel, fins, boots, gloves, & weights.

Discounts: Our students get a minimum of a 10% discount on non sale items and often times more when purchasing scuba packages including regulators, consoles, BCD's and other non required equipment.

How long does it take? We meet one night a week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday evenings) from 6:00pm to approximately 10:00pm for 4 weeks. These sessions are divided into academic and pool meetings that prepare you for open water training and certification. You'll also be asked to view training videos at home (a $40 fully refundable deposit is required when you check out the videos). Usually the weekend directly following the last training session we travel to Monterey over a Saturday and Sunday for 4 open water dives.

Optional Boat Diving: If your class elects to, and a boat is available for your open water weekend, for an additional $80.00 per day while in Monterey you can stage your open water dives from the superior comfort of a dive boat, well worth the extra expense.

On Completion: You will be a PADI Open Water Scuba Diver. A certification that is valid world wide for life. A certification that denotes you received the highest level of training in recreational diving in the world.

Learning to dive is not inexpensive but is well worth your investment of time and money for the years of excitement and adventure it offers.

Our Custom Class Formats:
Cost: $199.95 for custom referral class that is designed specifically to your schedule so that you will complete all of your academic and pool sessions and then be referred* to another PADI training center anywhere around the world. Or $249.95 for a semi private class with all of the same benefits of the referral class but then join a existing class in Monterey to do your check out dives. Or finally the totally custom course for $600.00 which includes private open water training as well as the academic and pool training. These formats allow for you to become a fully certified scuba diver is as little as 2 days. These costs are class costs only and all other costs as in the Standard Class schedule apply.

*Referrals: Other instructors at the open water end of referral classes will charge varied amounts for their services wherever you go and should be prearranged before you travel.
